Favorite Christmas Gift

There seemed to be a new trend on Facebook this past Christmas.  My feed was full of pictures of friends showing off their favorite Christmas presents- both extravagant and simple. I can't even begin to sort through my favorite gifts - there's the handmade presents from my kids and thoughtfully bought presents from my family in Texas and of course, those from my husband. I cherish each one of them. But my favorite present was not given to me.  It is the one my husband gave my daughter.  Each year we buy a Christmas ornament for each other. In the past, we surprise the kids about the ornament we get for them.  When they got older we let them choose what they want.  This year the girl chose a volleyball girl ornament. Unfortunately, it did not come in her team color so the husband promised to paint it.

This is what the original looked like in blue -

my husband fulfilling a promise, the girl is thrilled
this tiny ornament required a steady hand
almost there...from blue to Irish green
my favorite Christmas gift that I do not own ;-)
I hope you got the gift you wanted this Christmas.
