Answer Me This - Procrastinator's Edition

So the glitter ink pen (for lesson planning) has been purchased but true to form, I will procrastinate ;-)  Actually, not all the books have arrived, that's my excuse.  In the meantime, I will join Kendra for this week's edition of Answer Me This -

1. What is your favorite room in the house?
The front living room aka mom's space aka the toy-free zone.  It's where I pray, write, read and ponder. Toys are banned in this room under the threat of confiscation. I particularly love the fireplace with the mantle that doubles as our altar. It's small but cozy and I live in it. It's the only room in the house that's almost always tidy.

I love it in the Fall
I love it at Christmas time
I love it during Lent with the Stations of the Cross votives
I love it at Easter

2. Do you subscribe to any magazines or other periodicals?
We subscribe to the Food Network magazine as a birthday gift to the Baking Girl

3. How do you feel about the sign of peace in Mass? Enriching? Awkward? Overdone? Just right? Some combination of the above?
I'm going Switzerland on this.  I've not had any real experience where the sign of peace was less than reverent.

4. What is your least favorite sound?
Whining.

5. What was your favorite TV show (or shows) growing up?
Didn't watch a lot of tv growing up in the Third World boonies. I was almost a teen-ager when we got one and by then the rolling black-outs with it's prolonged periods of no electricity took the joy out of tv.  I did remember enjoying Little House on the Prairie, Eight is Enough and CHiPs.  But we mostly watched Filipino shows.

 6. What are your favorite TV shows now?
Thank you Amazon Prime I can now claim to follow tv shows! The Duchess of Duke Street is the only one I haven't yet finished.  I'm caught up with all the rest.
  • Downton Abbey
  • Larkrise to Candleford
  • Cranford
  • Wives and Daughters
  • Upstairs/Downstairs
  • The Duchess of Duke Street
Now go visit Kendra and company for the rest of this fun link-up!

  1. Love your mantel! We used to live in a Victorian house with five mantels and it was so fun to decorate them for Christmas.
