Spring Scoop

Happy Fourth Week Of Lent!  I hope you are all having a beautiful, prayerful, contemplative, quiet Lent. Mine has been, as usual, interesting because the aridity of Lent has a way of torturing the brain with the state of one's soul.  On the one hand I've been voraciously reading spiritual books, on the other, being voracious means I have also been intemperate. Life and Lent is a work in progress and so is my quest for balance.  I need every moment of Passiontide.

Spring is off to a running start over here and I mean that literally.  I have two kids running track with their dad as coach and another two in club ultimate. As for me,  I am not literally running but I am driving across town running to games, meets and practices. Truth be told, this is what I love about Spring.  After all the indoor time of Winter, being in the outdoors is such a welcome break. I'm always amused by the temperamental mood of Spring during track season. Experiencing wind, rain, cold and heat in a span of five weeks is like no other.  Spring, I think, is unique in the way it is sandwiched between two opposing seasons temperature-wise.  If you want to experience the great and tempestuous outdoors on a smaller scale attend a track meet.

Speaking of running, I am temporarily hiding my running shoes in the dark corners of my closet.  It's really not that dramatic, it just means I am focusing on my second round of LIIFT4.  I loved the first round so much I had to do it all over again, a hint of sarcasm there but true for the most part. To accommodate this schedule add-on, I've been waking up with the birds.  It's part penance, part discipline and completely sacrificial.  Don't be too impressed, I do indulge on treats regularly as motivation for this "sacrifice".  Just ask my friend Sara who got me addicted to ColorStreet Nails (hint, hint, buy from her lol).  For those of you who enjoy my fitness updates I will blog about this second round of LIIFT once I'm done.

I am not looking forward to Spring cleaning this year.  We are due for a major purging and my brain is protesting at the thought.  It may have to be a Spring-Summer cleaning project to ease the panic that rises up in me when I start making a list of what needs to be done.  With the involved details of getting a child ready for Freshman year and another preparing for college applications, Spring cleaning is on the bottom of my priorities currently.

I hope your Spring is more restful than mine.  As usual, before I sign off, pictures to share -
