In Sickness...

Our oldest caught a virus most likely during a visit to the urgent care for what turned out to be a sprained wrist (via basketball practice).  This has now spread to the rest of the younger boys.  It's been lovely, that is if you are Polyanna.  I can't complain, today is really a good day to have a houseful of sick children while the snow storm howled outside. Candles were lit, prayers were said, movies were watched, chores were attended to, dinner simmered through the pitiful begging of boys to cuddle with their mother as the girl baked a lovely pie. Speaking of the girl, she stepped up to do the chores that normally belonged to the boys...without being asked.  This is why the world needs girls LOL.

There is a lovely, calming rhythm in the midst of the virus-infested home ;-)   And we pray for those who do not have the comforts that we currently enjoy even through the coughing and the fevers.

global warming epic fail
cute child in sickness and in health
it's like an infirmary over here as we keep track of who needs what medicine when

Keep warm out there!

  2. We have two on the mend today so it isn't all that bad.

  3. We have a couple sickies here, too. Likely bugs caught at Mass, since we've been very few places all break. I wish sick people would stay home! Of course, the urgent care is not a place where sick people stay home. ;-) I hope you are all better soon.

BTW found out benadryl works great for coughs, just in case that happens to be one of the ailments at your house.

  4. My husband knew they were going to get a virus at the urgent care. He labeled it a zoo of sick children and they were there for a prolonged period. One is better today with another one looking so much better. We used the benadryl on the youngest, he was the most sick. Yet he remains the most ornery as be tells us all the medicines are yucky lol

  5. Faith would agree about yucky medicine, but fortunately she is big enough for one adult benadryl. I didn't take her to the doctor today because her fever was down and I don't want any new germs. I agree with your husband. Yuck, yuck, and more yuck.
