Spring before the A-choo's!

These early days of Spring are so very welcome!  It seems all I ever did in the Winter was whine about it being Winter!  Anyhow, we took the Octave of Easter as an opportunity to go on Spring Break.  It was so wonderful to just sit on the front porch to listen to the birds sing and watch the clouds roll by.  I could feel my brain working again, unstuck from the ball and chain of  the Lenten sacrifice. I am reading, writing, praying, watching and listening more.  I am less fatigued (thank you modern medicine) and this week started exercising again (moderately).  We're managing our allergies early so hopefully it won't be a rough mid-Spring of being stuck indoors (sneezing).  In the meantime, thank you Lord for these glorious early days of Spring!

Spring Break on the porch with the staples of my existence: a good book (nevermind that it's supposed to be Lenten reading!), a hot cup of coffee, a warm blanket and freshly-warmed bread (I would say freshly-baked but that would be lying lol)

...while the kids feed the ants! (with crushed pretzel, of course) and a baby digs out the flower bed

a trip to the empty park, a sandlot all to themselves

the two oldest: happy to be riding their bikes again..
....til dark those flashy bikes flashed their bright light
