Easter And A Birthday

"And even when you were dead in transgressions and the uncircumcision of the flesh, he brought you to life along with him, having forgiven us all our transgressions; obliterating the bond against us, with it's legal claims, nailing it to the cross; despoiling the principalities and the powers, he made a public spectacle of them, leading them away in triumph by it." - Colossians 2:13-15

Alleluia, He is Risen!

Happy Easter Monday.  I hope you all had a blessed and fruitful Lent. It has been one of the most powerful Lenten season in my life.  Maybe because last year was a rough year, I don't know.  All I know is that I met Christ in this journey, not that I've not met Him before but this time it was in a new and different way. Cor ad cor loquitur. Heart speaking to heart. That is the only way to describe it. For each one of us the encounter with Christ is different but for all of us it is always life-changing. I know mine has changed and for those areas where my will has to bend for change I will need an abundant supply of grace. It has challenged me to truly put on the new man as reflected on my chosen Scripture theme for Lent-  "Your inmost being must be renewed, and you must put on the new man." - Ephesians 4:23-29

I wasn't sure in the beginning what that passage meant for me or what it would look like within and after the 40 days.  I think I know now what it means and I pray that God's sufficient grace will sustain my fervor.

I won't bore with you with updates of the "fun" details of our DIY projects today.  Maybe tomorrow ;-)  For today I am sharing some Easter photos:

you know my seasonal posts isn't complete without our Easter decorations, the girl has taken over this job from me and she does a great job.  She made the egg bouquet in the middle of the chandelier.

getting ready for Mass, my goofy boys

the baby refuses to be in this picture

everyone is in this picture but there's an unhappy, Spring allergy-suffering child.  One of these days I will have a perfect Easter photo ;-)

hunting for eggs in the backyard with cousins and friends

as usual we forgot to hand out the eggs at the party so if you need hard boiled eggs we have 'em!
a surprise breakfast in bed on a day that I have actually forgotten because we have been so busy with the DIY projects LOL - what a privilege to celebrate a birthday during the Easter season, what a privilege to be a mother to these thoughtful kids

Advent candle doubles as a birthday candle LOL

I am spoiled

and before I forget- this is how amazing my ten-year-old daughter is - she baked this Easter lamb cake all by herself. I will share the recipe for this yummy egg-less cake sometime soon. It is delicious and I love that girl!
A happy and blessed Easter season to all.
