Surviving Spring

I didn't intend to be so quiet over here.  Spring allergies have rendered me practically useless (and) sedated for about a week and a half.  Today is the first day it has eased enough that I could sit outside (for 2 seconds!) without sneezing my brains out.  I have posts on queue about Confirmation and my siblings' visit, Mother's Day and also a new page that the girl asked me to make for her.  She wants to chronicle her baking and cooking adventures which I thought was a great idea. It is currently empty until I get my brains around posting links to old baking posts and also create new ones. The girl doesn't realize now that she has a page on this blog she might have to bake more often ;-)

Thank you to those of you loyal readers who visit here everyday.  I promise to write a little bit more each week once the allergies ease.  In the meantime, before the Benadryl kicks in let me share some photos:

I hope you are all having a wonderful Spring.  I love these early days when it's still fun to sit outside before the mosquitoes appear.  I love that I spend a lot of these days sleeping, thank you Benadryl :-)

  1. I only take Benadryl at night and it still makes me groggy all day. I don't know how you function at all. Does Claritin or Zyrtec not work for you? So sorry about these allergies. It's supposed to rain everyday this week, so maybe you'll feel better. Hope to see you soon. Faith. Misses her buddies (I do too).

    1. Claritin/Zyrtec worked for a while but it doesn't work for 24 hours as promised on the label. I would still wake up in the middle of the night with breathing difficulties. Sudafed helps with the congestion a lot. Like you I can only take Benadryl at night because it does make me useless all day. I can still function enough to oversee schoolwork and minor chores but other than that I am enjoying the medicine-induced rest while everyone picks up my slack. I think these days are numbered though now that most of the foliage have bloomed. Looking forward to more playdates with you!

  2. Oh yuck, Ana Maria! I hope you feel better soon. I know too well how not feeling good affects everything. But it looks like you have good helpers. :) I want to see what your girl cooks up. She makes me hungry on pinterest.

    1. Just when I thought everything is getting better, well, yesterday was awful. I was enjoying sitting on the porch with the kids and my eyes started burning. It was an early (Benadryl) night. I think I'll be cooped indoors for awhile. Ugh. I will be posting a sweet birthday treat later today from the girl.
