All The Fall Feels

It's beginning to feel like Fall around here.  Knowing the temps will be dropping overnight Friday, I jumped out of bed Saturday as if it was Christmas morning.  It would have been ideal to sleep in as it was cross-country bye week for my oldest but I just couldn't resist greeting the cool, crisp morning.  I am a morning person in the cooler months.

Fall is a homecoming and I think that is the attraction to a natural homebody as myself. To be home in a warm and cozy place is my idea of happy. I find that I'm more apt to tackle my chores with energy in the Fall.  There's something about sitting in a tidied home at the end of each day that makes me feel accomplished.  Needless to say by Saturday afternoon my to-do lists have become quite ambitious. It was also one of the most productive days I've had in a long time. God made Fall so I would get my rear in gear and clean up already!

Last year we were sick for most of October and part of November so we did not make a dent on our usual adventure list.  This year, God willing we are healthy, we hope to get back to some of the usual things we love this time of year. I'm also looking forward to getting mileage on my trail runners. It's been nicely broken-in so it's ready for the real deal even if I'm not.  Once cross-country season is over the oldest child and I will try trail running.

One of my favorite novenas marks the beginning of Fall for me.  I have been praying the St. Therese novena every year since I can remember whether or not I have a pressing intention. St. Therese was a devotion I shared with my mother.  My mom had the most amazing favors that the Little Flower's intercession bestowed on her.  When I am asked how I know something was answered divinely as opposed to a co-incidence my answer is because these petitions are mostly something I have whispered to no one else but God.  In some instances the answer to these prayers are so specific to a person or a situation that there is no denying the hand of God.

What about you, what do you love about Fall and how has God answered your most fervent prayers?

And as usual some pictures to share before I log out-
Our bucket list could use some variety
The creative one in the family (daughter) knows how to make a proper list
We didn't harvest anything this year, our vegetable patch was sorely neglected
Even my runners are Fall ready, it was not intentional, it was in the discount bin!

Happy Fall!!!

  2. I'm guessing you're an apple over pumpkin family. 😁 Fall is my favorite season! It always feels like a beginning to me, even though winter follows - or maybe because of that?
