I could stew on this inconvenience or I can find something joyful out of it. I am choosing joy. It wasn't hard to find. It started with the girl who stepped up to the plate cleaning the kitchen and the tv room first thing in the morning. She also made dinner (and dessert) two nights in a row while finishing up crocheted gifts for her friend and for me. She was our all-around errand girl these past couple of days, ever so willing to do tasks without even being asked. It was sweet. These are moments when parents feel accomplished, that we have done something right with these children.
In the midst of the illness we also had a conversation about dating. There is a post coming up on that. Let me just say that I had an insight into the heart and soul of my older two kids and it is good, very good. May it remain that way.
But my most favorite moment this week is something I have long waited for. The girl and I now wear the same shoe size! LOL To celebrate this "milestone" we decided to splurge on new sandals (buy one, get one half off). The deal was what I really waited for ;-) I just couldn't justify buying two pairs of shoes for myself so the girl is now my excuse. The good thing about this is that we have the same taste in shoes (and clothes, hurray!) For a very long time we really had two separate style ideas so it is such a treat to see that she is coming around to my side of fashion. It means my fashion taste is still relevant LOL.
Anyhow, I hope we will all be recovered in time for our homeschool group's End of School Year Party. The oldest is already lamenting that he will miss his baseball team's party tomorrow.
As always, I have pictures to share-

Off to my sick bed. Happy restful Sunday!
So sorry you guys are all sick. You went from allergies to virus...not a good spring. Hoping you're all recovered very soon!
ReplyDeleteI am no longer caught up with laundry or any chore for that matter. So once the air clears there is real life to face. Hoping for a quiet summer!
