Thank You, Snow!

Snow greeted us this morning.  As expected, it fell overnight to the delight of everyone over here.  Yesterday we labored on the yard, cleaning up the last debris of leaves, dead annuals and hibernating perennials to prepare for the arrival of winter. Outdoor toys were stored as every remnant of our cherished outdoor living found their way back in the sheds.

I am ready for this.  I love snow, I love being "trapped" in a warm home even as there are busy chores that need my attention.  I love traipsing in the snow too, there is a sense of quiet and calm about a world encased in white.  And for today, for this temporary gift of snow, poetry and all,  I am truly thankful.
