A Sunday Favor

I am in so much pain. Friday leg day plus Saturday's long run was not a good combo.  I felt good yesterday, doing all the stretches I usually do after a long run thinking I'm such a boss.  When I got up this morning there was some soreness but nothing that needed pain medicine.  As the day wore on, a day spent in heels through CCD class, Mass, and the rosary procession, the soreness started creeping in. By the time I woke up from a nap I didn't think I could even get off the couch. It was time to take ibuprofen.  Fortunately, the upper body soreness from weight lifting early in the week has subsided.  I still feel like a boss but a boss that needs medicine hahaha.  Tomorrow should be an interesting day.

Here is a quick story of an amazing thing that happened to me today.  Last night, while praying the rosary I kept telling Jesus I wasn't feeling it.  I was having such a difficult time meditating on the Annunciation.  My heart felt nothing,  my mind wasn't illuminated yet somehow I trudged through the dryness.  I'm sure there is merit in perseverance.  Anyhow, midway through CCD this morning, one of the Friars visited our class and guess what he brought with him?!  A painting of the Annunciation! Then he proceeded to elucidate on the mystery and the details of the painting.  I felt as if scales were removed from my eyes and I could clearly see what was hidden from me the night before.  How amazing is our God!  If there is anything I can tell you about my life it is a story of God's generosity. Today's favor is only a tiny portion of the innumerable graces He has cast along my path.  Deo Gratias!

Aleteia has a detailed information on this particular painting by African-American artist Henry Ossawa Tanner at https://aleteia.org/2017/12/15/a-canvas-that-brings-together-heaven-and-earth-henry-ossawa-tanners-annunciation/

What are the ways God has shown you favor?

    1. Hahaha because I want to be taller than my middle child! They are very comfy but there's no comfy shoes after leg day and running. I hoe JP thinks I am the best ccd teacher 😁

  2. I wondered why you were wearing heels too! :) God's favor... oh yes. Sometimes it takes so long, but usually at my darkest, driest, something happens that reels me in again. I wish I had clear memories of those moments, but it is usually small things, things that, in the big picture, seem trivial, but in that moment are everything. Most recently, I keep putting off confession because of feeling so busy, but now I see quotes about and "go to" confession signs everywhere.

Hope you are not as sore today!

    1. I love heels especially now that three out of five kids are dwarfing me! The most comfortable are block heels and some platform. I do have stilletos that are super comfy but I only wear them for formal dress events.

Write down those favors so you can read them in during the dark times.

      No longer sore today! Hurray!
