Guest Blogger: The Second Child

It is I, the beloved second child and only daughter, and I'm back this October with another guest post! My mom has a CCD class to teach tomorrow so she asked that I write something for the blog today. The original plan was for me to talk about the photography class I am taking this semester but I am currently short on time so I will save that for another day. Instead, I'll be sharing some things I've been loving recently! Warning: I have a tendency to ramble about things I love, this may be quite long :)

1. This weather!
That's a given; who doesn't love fall weather? I don't have much time to go outside during the school week but today I was finally able to go on a walk! The three younger boys tagged along and we stopped to buy snacks before returning home and watching a movie. They have been asking me to watch Coco with them since I'm in my second year of learning Spanish. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit! It was perfect weather for walking and snuggling up on the couch afterwards. I also have a plethora of sweaters and it's reached the point that I am no longer allowed to buy more. I think it it's been a relief for my mom to see me finally put all of my sweaters to good use :)

2. Music
Speaking of Coco, one of the songs has been stuck in my head constantly for quite a while despite the fact that I had never seen it before. Music is something I have always enjoyed so I attempted to learn the song, Un Poco Loco, on the ukulele. I gave up pretty quickly as I just picked up ukulele over the summer and so far I'm not terribly good it. Other songs I have been enjoying are Like I Did with you by Us The Duo, Home by Gabrielle Aplin, and multiple songs by Sleeping at Last. He is my favorite artist in the whole world. I have 64 playlists on Spotify the majority of which have at least one song by Sleeping at Last on there. I am definitely a huge fan. Their music is soft, slow, and the lyrics have so much meaning. I would listen to their music on repeat forever if I could. I'm also very into musicals. I could go on and on about that for ages.

3. MBTI Types
I was introduced to the Myers-Briggs personality test by a friend a couple years back. I've been interested ever since. I'm an INFP  which is one of the rarest types making up only 2% of the population! My friend is also an INFP so it's been really cool to discover more about our type together. If you're interested the test can be taken here.
I am also a big fan of the sky
4. Harry Potter
If there is one thing you should know about me it's that I am a huge geek. Most people have been surprised when they discover that fact which I find amusing. I got into Harry Potter in February of this year (I know, it took me a long time, my mom wanted us to wait to read it until we were strong enough in our faith) and I have been fascinated. I read all of the books in about a week and after I finished the books I would come home from school and watch the movies. Of course, I got into the Hogwarts houses. I'm still hesitant about my house because the more I think and read up on them the more I feel like I fit into all of them. I definitely think I am the least Gryffindor which is funny since the majority of my family are Gryffindors. I go back and forth between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, and occasionally I think I could be a Slytherin. Most quizzes tell me I'm a Ravenclaw, I will gladly accept.

5. Agents of SHIELD
THIS. SHOW. I am incredibly obsessed and have been for over two years now, it drives most people insane because I talk about it all the time. I even went to ComicCon last summer and met one of the actresses there and it was such a good experience. There are five seasons of this wonderful show and I admit that I have watched them all multiple times. While I'm on this topic, I would like to mention that this show is in danger of being cancelled every year because most people don't know about it. All seasons are on Netflix and I'm sure on other streaming websites, so if I can convince you to binge watch it, there's a way! Plus, season six doesn't air until next summer so there is plenty of time to catch up. I've gotten my dad, multiple friends, and my friends family into the show and they are all loving it. Agents of SHIELD is a superhero show made by Marvel and it ties in to all of the movies and it is so worth the watch. One of my favorite things about the show is the theme of family that is presented in the team. There are also numerous plot twists that have made me gasp out loud and I admit, some have even made me cry. However, I will warn you that there are a few scenes throughout the series that aren't family friendly and I have skipped through. My mom watched the show before I did to make sure they were okay and warn me when there was an episode with a scene I would need to skip.
another gift from another best friend, they all know me so well
Hopefully this was an interesting substitute post and you feel like your time reading this was well spent. I think this post says a lot about me, haha. I'm sure I will return with another post soon but for now this is the end. Have a good rest of your weekend!

  1. Second child, I think we would have been friends. :) Thanks for subbing in for your mom. It was a fun read. I'll check out the show. I'm always up for a recommendation.
