30 Days Of Thanks - Day 8 And 9

I did not forget writing yesterday.  We had an unplanned whirlwind of a trip that did not leave me time for blogging. I love long drives. I think I've written about my love for long drives so let me leave it at that.  On our trip yesterday our playlist was one that our oldest made for us, aptly titled "Parentals".  It consisted mostly of 90's music that my husband and I both enjoyed, a little pop, a lot of grunge and the palate cleanser that is Seal. I may have been the biggest Seal fan back in the day.  Music has that amazing ability to put us in a time and place that either makes us cry or laugh.  Our playlist was both.  I got a bit teary-eyed with the tragic BNL song that is "Call and Answer". And we all laughed at the incoherent singing of Eddie Vedder.  It's also become a running joke around here to tell our daughter that she needs to learn whatever song we're listening to on her ukulele.  She happily informed us when a Coldplay song came on that she, in fact, knows to play that on her ukulele.  For all the memories and laughter brought about by our love for music, yesterday, I was truly thankful.

Today will be short....I am thankful that my husband is cooking dinner and doing dishes. It's been a long week and I can really use someone else's cooking.  For my husband, in all his excellence as a father, husband, friend, nurse, singing partner, human being, cook, and dishwasher, today, I am truly thankful.
