30 Days of Thanks - Warmth & Rest

Hi friends!

Today I'll be making up for yesterday's missed post as well as today's regularly scheduled post. Last night I fell asleep before I could get a post up, but I'm here now! For those of you wondering, my mom & family's run went well today, and I'm sure my mom will have a post on that when she returns. I accompanied them to their race along with my cousin who wasn't running either. We spent some time looking for an open coffee shop and then waited by the finish line for our family. It was absolutely freezing. My feet and hands were numb long before we were on our way back home. As soon as I got home I put on warm slippers and curled up by the heater.  What a glorious relief! That's what I'm thankful for, warmth.

Another thing I'm thankful for is rest. I've had a three day weekend off of school and thanksgiving break is rapidly approaching. I've had plenty of time to sit at home and recuperate, which has been ever so wonderful for my intensely introverted self. It's been refreshing, a lot of the time I just lie on my floor (which somehow is the most peaceful thing and I very much prefer it to a couch or my bed) and stare at the ceiling. For the most part, when laying on my floor, I daydream or sing softly to myself, occasionally playing ukulele as I do so. From time to time, I'll paint with watercolor. Sometimes I think myself into an anxious flurry of concerns for my future, generally academic related, but those always seem to be resolved smoothly. Nevertheless, I am beyond thankful for the rest I've had and for the rest that is coming with the upcoming holidays. My Christmas break is nearly three weeks this year and I'm thrilled.

here's some festive cookies I made last year, I'm hungry now.
