Outside My Window - a beautiful sunset casting pinks and purples on the horizon. My boys are playing ball as my neighbor cuts the grass. It's helping lift me out of a sour mood.
I'm Listening To - my kids yelling and laughing outside, the neighbor's lawn mower, cars passing by, and the steady hum of central heating. It's a good distraction to the noise of my own thoughts.
The Week Ahead - short school week for all this Thanksgiving week. I still have some yard work to finish and the weather seems like it may cooperate. Christmas decor may go up and of course, looking forward to feasting with the fam.
What's Cooking - craving apple galettes, so that is on the menu. Not too much busy cooking as we anticipate a big turkey meal on Thursday.
Prayers - a private intention and the intentions of family and friends this week. We just realized we skipped our annual tradition of praying the St. Gertrude prayer for the poor souls in purgatory for the month of November. In the meantime, we are looking forward to the Christmas novena.
What I'm Reading - I really thought I could be persuaded to read Persuasion after Emma. But I think I've had enough of Jane Austen for now. Not sure if I want to pick up fiction during Advent. We'll see. For now devotionals and Pope Benedict it is.
30 Days Of Thanks- skipping this one today. But yesterday, I wrote that I was so thankful for the music on feast days. Our church pulls out all the stops on these big feasts like Christ The King yesterday. I find it somewhat curious that a trumpet blast can move me to tears. There's just something about church and trumpet music for church that stirs my heart and soul. I don't think I was ever moved by trumpets in a different setting. For yesterdays feast and the accompanying music I was truly thankful. For today's car incident, I am trying to find the will to be thankful.
