He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. - Ecclesiastes 3:11
"If you were presented with a time machine, where would you go?" I have never been interested in time travel. I tend to skip time travel related books, the romantic in nature I especially avoid. I have no logical explanation. So when this Write31Days writing prompt came up my intent was to skip it altogether. But sometimes to write is to be challenged so here I am writing about it.
When I think of the future I get a bit scared. There's very little about the future I would be interested in visiting. I would, however, like to see grand children. Will they inherit some of my Asian traits? Will they have hazel eyes like my husband or brown like the rest of us here? Will they love and live the Faith we would have left them as legacy? Would they have read all of my works and think "my grandma was the coolest!" Because to me the cool factor is the most important thing lol.
As for the past, wow, that's a whole different story. There are so many points in history that I would love to visit especially my own. I would travel to the past to meet my ancestors. I only ever met both grandfathers. My grandmothers had already passed by the time I was born. Apparently my maternal grandmother is a legendary figure, I would have loved to have known her and of course, all the great-grands.
As for World History, I would love to travel back to the time of Jesus. That's a no-brainer. I can't even begin to wrap my mind around the idea of being physically around Him traveling on foot, listening to His sermons, witnessing the miracles...not sure if I would like to be present at the Passion. It is tough enough to meditate on it so that thought of being physically present through it might be more than I can handle.
Would you be interested in time travel? Where would you go?
Don't forget to go and visit my friends who are writing with me this month- Autumn, Nicole, Barb, and Christine
Fun, glad you didn't skip. :)
ReplyDeleteThat was actually a lot easier to write than I anticipated. We are on the final days of writing! Thank you for joining me.
DeleteIt was, and yes we are! Thanks for asking. It's been good.
DeleteI'm not interested in time travel either, to the future or the past. I think it would never turn out the way we think it would.
ReplyDeleteBut, speaking of the past, my brother (who is training for the deaconate) is in the Holy land on pilgrimage with his pastor, and he lectored at the Church of the Transfiguration on Mt. Tabor, went to the Jordan River where Jesus was baptized, visited Golgotha, touched the place where Jesus was buried in the tomb and had Mass in the tomb, served Mass at the Church of the Nativity, and then had Mass at the Church in the Garden of Gethsemane. While there are a few of those events I wouldn't mind having been witness to, there are a couple I'm pretty sure my poor mortal self could not handle.
The Holy Land is on my bucket list.
