Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11:28-30
This will be a quick post as I think I am finally, really coming down with this bug that has hovered in our home this month. October is usually my favorite month, but not this year. Even the leaves have been lackluster. Most have just turned brown and crunchy. What little color there is is just that, little. Our usual Fall activities were all a no-go. We did not make it to the apple orchard, hence no canned apples and applesauce. We did not make it to the pumpkin patch so we just bought it from Aldi's. I think October is commiserating with all the sickness in our home. Every week this month someone has been sick over here, some of them going on a second round.
I woke up today with achy bones and a sore throat. I am drowning it with water and vitamins and a lot of rest. Not going down without a fight! The good news is that through all the nursing and mothering over here I was fairly diligent with the chores. I have this quirk that if I'm going to be sick I want my house to be in order. I get pretty productive when I feel an illness coming on.
I also asked The Baking Girl to be my guest blogger as needed so you might hear from her before this Write31Days challenge is over. For now, I will end here. Keep us in your prayers and that November will be a better month for our household. I hope you are all having a fantastic Fall. Don't forget to go and visit my friends who are writing with me this month- Autumn, Nicole, Barb, and Christine
Praying for you. Hopefully November will bring more joy. I'm tired of October too. Went from summer to winter in two weeks. Maybe some day when I have to pick up Faith I can make a pit stop and you can meet Max!
ReplyDeleteSaw Max on the alumni magazine. Best photo on that whole thing. I am getting ready for November and Advent. My heart is ready for it.
DeleteOh no! October is usually my favorite too, but you're right, it hasn't felt like October this year. Headaches for me, too hot for first half, and just a blahness about it that feels like a November. Hope you recover quickly and no round two!!
ReplyDeleteAnd we have February to look forward to lol. Praying for you as well.
